Early Years Foundation Stage

Gallery- Autumn Term 2021

Gallery - January 2021

It is great to see all the learning you are doing at home. Here's a little snapshot of what you've been doing ...

Welcome to the Early Years Foundation Stage page.

The Early Years Foundation Stage is most children's first experience of school. We use Development Matters to plan a 2-year cycle of learning for our children, which supports the development of Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

We balance the use of Areas of Provision to allow children to engage in challenges, which develop and strengthen their understanding of concepts in all of these areas as well as whole class teaching, small group work and one-to-one activities to support all children at different stages in their educational journey.

In the autumn term this academic year we have engaged in the following topics; All about me, Autumn and Festivals. We have enjoyed a range of activities to develop skills to support these topics as well as developing a love of learning through performance of rhymes and stories and a visit for reception to our local library.
