Knowledge Organisers - Year 1 & 2 2023-2024

Welcome to Key Stage One (Year 1 & 2)

We currently have five classes in Key Stage 1, three classes in Year One (Mrs White and Mrs Hirst,  Miss Marley and Mrs Bootland and Mr Ibbott) and two classes in Year Two (Miss Lackenby and Mrs C Hill and Miss Holmes). Our teaching team is committed to building strong foundations in Reading, Writing and Maths and ensuring that every child is given the best chance to succeed.  We build on from the Early Years Foundation Stage with a balance of play based learning as well as teacher led opportunities.

We understand that each child is an individual, so our rich and varied curriculum provides opportunities for our children to be investigators, artists, athletes and so much more! Our topics change half-termly and this year sees us being constructors, chocolatiers and explorers. Marvellous Me is the best way to keep up with our current topics and where we will share learning. Knowledge Organisers will come home each half term and will also be shared here on the school website.

Our virtues are important to us, every Monday we begin the week with a virtue assembly where we share one of virtues and discuss how this will look around school and at home. On Fridays our whole Key Stage comes together to share our successes and celebrate the achievements of our incredible learners. We are so proud of our children and we love taking the time to celebrate their achievements. Throughout the year there will be opportunities to join us for different Key Stage 1 events and we hope you will be able to join us.
