At Westfield, supporting our pupils' wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.  Ensuring our children are safe, healthy and happy is our absolute priority.  To support us in achieving this, we have a team of Children’s Champions dedicated to supporting pupils and their families with their social, emotional and mental health.

Our Children’s Champions are a team of experienced professionals who are available to offer support to our children and families.  They support pupils in the classroom, provide 1:1 intervention and deliver small group sessions to help remove barriers to learning. When teaching teams need additional support, the Children’s Champions are on hand for positive intervention and support.

Their key responsibilities are:

  • Supporting pupil wellbeing and happiness
  • Providing emotional support
  • Supporting positive behaviour choices
  • Supporting transition within school and when pupils transfer between settings
  • Signposting to other agencies that might be able to support
  • Encouraging high levels of attendance and punctuality

To arrange a discussion with the Children’s Champions, please speak to the school office who will arrange this for you. Alternatively, they are available on the playgrounds most mornings.
