"Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. ‘Children’ means everyone under the age of 18. In order to fulfil this responsibility effectively, all practitioners should make sure their approach is child centred. This means that they should consider, at all times, what is in the best interests of the child."

Keeping Children Safe in Education, 2026

Westfield Primary Community School is committed to providing a safe environment for all children, staff and visitors. We promote a culture that allows our children, families, staff and visitors to feel confident in sharing any concerns they have about the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others.

We follow the DfE guidance from Keeping Children Safe in Education and Working Together to Safeguard Children as well as our school’s  Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy .

Anyone with any concerns about the welfare of a pupil must report it to our Designated Safeguarding Lead, or in their absence, one of their deputies, by contacting the school office on 01904 555295.
