‘To the ends of the Earth’ How is life on the ice?
We started our new topic with an immersion day! We learnt about the explorer Ernest Shackleton and his expedition to reach Antarctica on the ship Endurance. We had a go at making the boat out of cardboard!
We then heard about an artist called Francis Hatch. She was going visit Antarctica and before she went, she saw the outline of the map in unusual places. We had a go ourselves! Can you tell what each map is made out of?
