Welcome to Westfield
Welcome back to the start of a new school year. We hope you had a wonderful summer break and are looking forward to the year ahead. Whilst our training days are always great, school never feels right until the children are back in the building, so it has been a pleasure to see them return and see them happy in their new classes. It has been lovely to welcome our new children and their families into Early Years over the past few days; the children have settled brilliantly with smiles on their faces and plenty of enthusiasm! A warm welcome to a number of other families who have also joined Westfield from other schools both near and far. We look forward to getting to know you all.
Year 6
Year 6 had a fantastic start to the year enjoying their three night stay at Robinwood. Moving the date to the start of term saved families £100 per pupil and also allowed the staff to get to know their children in the most exciting way. We heard the children loved catching up with one another after the summer - some late into the night! A huge thank you to the staff who went on the trip taking time away from their own families. The children who chose not to attend were incredible and enjoyed three days of crafting, baking and outdoor learning. A brilliant start to Year 6.
School Uniform
Thank you for ensuring the children have returned to school in the correct uniform and footwear. A copy of our uniform policy is attached to this email for your information. Please remember, if you require any help with uniform or items for PE kits then please let one of our Children’s Champions know.
OFSTED Inspection
We welcomed a two day visit from OFSTED at the end of summer term and, although the inspection process was challenging, as it should be, we are delighted with the outcome. The inspection team took the time to understand our context, get to know our staff and children and truly understand what makes Westfield so special. The commitment that all staff have for your children was recognised and it is great to see this acknowledged throughout the report. We hope that you feel as proud of our school community as we do, and that you enjoy reading the report attached.
