World Book Day takes place this year on Thursday 2nd March, and we hope you will join us as we come together to celebrate our World Book Day in school.

One of key themes this year is the importance of children and families reading together for pleasure. We want to celebrate reading as a cosy, relaxing activity - one maybe enjoyed with a hot chocolate and some snuggly blankets!  With this in mind, our theme this year is "A Bear & A Book". We would like children to come in on World Book Day dressed in their comfiest clothes or warm pyjamas, and bring with them a well-loved soft toy and a favourite book.

On the day, every child will be given a voucher for a free £1 book, which can be used at Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Tesco, The Works, Waterstones, WHSmith and independent booksellers. The selection of titles available can be found at www.worldbookday/books. You can also find lots of fun resources and activities on the World Book Day website, which would be perfect to do with your child over the half term holiday.

We’re very much looking forward to celebrating World Book Day, which could not happen without the support of parents and carers - thank you.
