After cruising to victory in the York Finals back in December, the Westfield Year 5/6 Girls’ Football Team attended the North Yorkshire Finals of the Pokémon Primary Cup to play against eight of the best teams from across the county.
Our team won five of their matches, drew one, and lost just one very tight game to a gut-wrenching last-second goal! The final table saw Westfield finish just two points off the top spot in a very commendable 3rd place. A huge congratulations to all the other teams involved, and especially the victors, Saltergate.
We are so proud of the girls for their effort, teamwork, and resilience. It has been an incredible journey to get to this stage and they have worked tremendously hard. We look forward to many more fixtures over the course of the year and celebrating plenty more goals.
