Last week, our Year 6 pupils had an amazing trip to London. After a very early start, the children travelled by train and navigated the London Underground, before enjoying a fascinating guided tour of the Houses of Parliament. They were mesmerised and used it as a brilliant opportunity to make links to their learning from the term.

They asked York MP Rachel Maskell thoughtful questions about local issues that matter to them – we were particularly impressed with their questions about inflation and potholes!

After their visit, the children had a walking tour of the capital, seeing some of London's most iconic landmarks including Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, The Mall and Buckingham Palace.

We were so proud of the children – they walked for miles and showed enthusiasm, curiosity and impeccable behaviour throughout.

A huge thank you to the staff who made this trip possible, and to The Place - York who also supported the trip. It will be one the children will remember for a long time.
