Welcome to Upper Key Stage 2.

Welcome to Year 5 & 6

We currently have six classes within Upper Key Stage Two: in Year 5, we have Mrs Hyatt, Miss Neal and Mrs O’Connor and in Year 6, we have Mr Simpson, Mr Griffiths and Mrs Douglas. We are also lucky to experience performance lessons from Mrs Rich and music and singing lessons with Miss Hall.

Throughout school, we strive for the children to be curious, ambitious, confident, knowledgeable, inspired and articulate in their learning.

In the autumn term this year, we have already studied Ernest Shackleton’s journey across Antarctica, we have also explored the crime, and punishment aspect of Anglo Saxon England – the children loved making their papier-mâché helmets. Year 6 were lucky enough to visit Grinton Lodge, Richmond for a 1 night residential as well as a lengthy sponsored walk and visits from local artist Greg McGee.

Looking ahead throughout the year, the children will be studying ‘Light Up Your Life’, ‘Brutal Britain II’ and ‘Powerhouses of the World’. We will continue to celebrate the children's learning and suggest home learning points through Marvellous Me.
