Introduction

Are you tired of doing the same old same old? Well then Robinwood is the place for you! Located in the idyllic countryside of Todmorden is Dobroyd Castle, Lancashire is where the activity centre is.

This once-in-a-lifetime trip (which lasts 3 action-packed days)helps KS2 children develop skills such as confidence, puzzle-solving skills and determination. Here at Dobroyd Castle, there is a splendid selection of activities that are sure to please all.

Piranha Pool

The notorious Piranha Pool is very likely to be the most highly-anticipated activity at Robinwood and potentially the favourite of people who love thrills and excitement. The activity contains perplexing puzzles that involve teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. As the name suggests, it contains flesh-eating, blood-thirsty piranhas. Do YOU have what it takes? Are you tough enough?

We can confirm to any concerned adults that these piranhas will not attempt to eat your child alive and cannot harm your child whatsoever - they have actually had their teeth removed by our onsite veterinary team. This activity is 110% safe - every unnecessary risk has been removed. The piranhas are also fed with our own misbehaving children to ensure they won't eat yours. (That was a joke - we find it helps put nervous parents at ease.)

Zip wire

‘Zip zip zip, have a nice trip!’ Those are the last words you’ll hear before gliding down the nationally famous zip line of Robinwood. The zip line at Robinwood is very clearly our most popular activity, just edging over the piranha pit, for a good reason. It is a heart-stopping thriller of an activity to remember for years and years.

The children's safety is the everlasting oath we must follow and our full attention is on them throughout the activity to ensure they are safe and have fun; hence, intense checking is done when strapping the full-body harness (which is probably the safest piece of equipment since curve-edged books) to the zip line in preparation for their experience. We also pay rigorous attention to detail when sorting the harness, strapping and tightening it to secure your precious offspring.

Caving

Despite the fact our built-for-purpose caves are not real, they simulate a genuinely realistic caving experience for the rising youngsters. With many fun games to engage them in the caving activity, the caves will have you struggling on your stomach; scrambling through tight, narrow tunnels and awkwardly squirming past your group of peers. You’ll overcome your fears and feel like a champion by the end of this worthwhile challenge.

Here at Dobroyd Castle, we understand that caving is not for everyone and out of many people’s comfort zone; therefore we provide frequent emergency exits and helmets with head torches are required. There are also cameras all around the caves to ensure the children's safety meaning they are always being monitored by the group leaders.

Marvellous meals

Here at Robinwood we know how hungry people can get after a day of our activities, therefore we strive to make sure our accommodation are satisfied with our meals. We serve pastas with the finest sauces; chicken burgers that compare to KFC and a smorgasbord of tantalising tortillas.

For any allergies or food preferences we can cater to any extra needs just let us know.
